Description

Experience the excitement and energy at Cambridge Sword Club, where enthusiastic fencers gather to improve their skills and enjoy the sport. Led by dedicated coaches Archie Broughton and Mark Baker, the club offers a welcoming environment for fencers of all ages and abilities.

Participants are required to wear full fencing kit for safety and comfort.

Kit can be hired from the club if needed so when booking your session, please also select the kit you need. This kit will be provided on your first visit

Fencers must purchase a glove in their first term, followed by a foil and body wire in the second term, and a lame in the third. You can see all the information about this in our policy booklet which is available on the website and there will be help and reminders available in the session.

Foils and lame jackets are available to use in the club session and MUST not be taken home. If you should have your own, there is a hire charge for the use of these and for blade breakages. This is explained in the Armoury Policy attached here and available on the website.

There will be an armoury session every term so fencers are able to maintain and service their own kit.

Members must be registered with the British Fencing Association and provide their membership number when they book to ensure compliance and access to insurance benefits.

The session begins with a warm-up game, followed by stretching, focused footwork, and tactical exercises. Fencers are divided into ability and experience groups for sparring, fostering skill development and friendly competition.

Whether you're new to fencing or a seasoned fencer, you'll find sessions designed to challenge and inspire you in a supportive atmosphere.

Please review our the Club Armoury and rules and policy documents before attending to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. these may all seem a bit daunting but we have many friendly coaches and volunteers as well as lovely seasoned fencing parents who can help with all of this!

Join us at Cambridge Sword Club and discover the thrill of fencing in a lively, professional setting.
