Intro to the Competitive Pathway
A short presentation and opportunity to ask questions and mix with other fencers and parents.
Competition is an important part of fencing and we hope as many of our fencers as possible will engage with competitions at some level. Some will try it and decide they just want to enjoy their club fencing and they are just important to us BUT we hope that ALL our fencers will try competitions at some stage.
The first of our new initiatives is to revamp our Competitive Pathway and Cambridge Sword Squad. Archie, Matt and I have been working on this for the last few weeks and now we are ready!
Matt led the embryonic Cambridge Sword Squads last year and we learnt a lot. Now we have a chance to re launch and Archie to take on the admin lead as well as working with Matt to add the value and experience. (Matt is a full time career scientist and a dad so we need to be careful with his time!)
Archie, Matt and I will be outlining our competitve pathway at 19.35 - 20.00 on October 15th in the dining hall at Netherhall. We would like as many of you to attend as possible with your fencer if possible. If your fencer is not fencing at the evening club sessions yet, this is still relevant and would be great if you can attend. We will send an explanation but it won’t be as good or as immediate or offer the chance of Q&A and mixing with other parents.
So please put 19.35 on 15th October in your diaries.
